DAY/POST 2: YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE SONG

Sorry for the lack of posting recently! It would be a lie to have said that I was 'really busy', truth be told, procrastination has caught up to me. I am however, keeping to my word on this whole 30 day/post song challenge thing-y, so here I sound off on my least favourite song. And its..................................................

Ok so sue me if I like to build up a little tension but here it is!
LEAST FAVOURITE SONG:I'm probably going to get a league of haters on this but its 'Talking to the Moon' by Bruno Mars. There, I've said it!

So before you all shoot me, here are my reasons:a) I'm sure Bruno's a really nice guy but i've never been too fond of his music, but then again its my own personal taste so feel free to scrutinize me. I am no way saying that I have great music taste, I'm just saying that I like his music.b) Never been one to like ballads, you'll more likely find me head banging to ACDC. So this song, I don't know, just really doesn't click in my head.c) Lyrics make or break a song to me, with the excuse of ACDC, and the lyrics in this song, well they seem just too corny to be taken seriously. I mean I'm really sorry Bruno but this is just not my song.Ok so there! Remember that this is just MY opinion so feel free to say whatever you like against it. I mean, I'm sure there are lots of people who like this song but I just happen not to be one of them.

On a lighter note, lets all take a moment to appreciate the beauty of Nicholas Hoult.

Such Great Heights

Riding Pant- American Apparel, Turtleneck- Thrifted, Chain necklace- DIY, Boots - Monki, Cardigan- MUM'S!

It's official, right now I'm obsessed with two things. 1) Saved by the bell. Seriously its the greatest show ever. 2) Riding Pant. Definitely an amazing purchase from American Apparel. Its comfortable whilst being able to provide sufficient warmth and shape. Also, I've decided to add my love of music to this blog by doing the 30 day/post song challenge. Yep thats right kids. I'm reviving it from its ancient 2010 state into the current year. I figured, why the heck not.

Day 1: Your Favourite Song

I have so many favourite songs, its not even funny. So this is just one of the MANY songs that I adore. Introduced to me by the amazinggg Dominique! My long lost sister :D Such Great Heights has been on constant replay. And I hear they're getting back together and performing at Coachella. AMAZING.

The Musical Youth

Beanie- Birthday Gift, Shirt, Plaid Shirt and Shorts- Thrifted, Belt- Vintage, Creepers- Underground

Hello all! The weather here in Hong Kong has become insanely warm over the past few days. I think we've skipped straight to spring instead of winter. For some reason, my love for tying stuff around my waist has grown. I find some comfort in utilizing an extra shirt as a belt. Perhaps its the 7 year old kid in me coming out again. I'm definitely having some sort of 90's moment now. That probably explains my hours of procrastination research spent watching Saved by the Bell

Rich Girls

My hair looks red-y brown in this, but it is not!

Title is from my one of my favourite songs by my favourite band, The Virgins.

Fact: I am terrified of maxi-skirts, or maxi-anything in general.
Living as a 5"1 asian girl, I'm always trying to find ways to cheat in height, case in point, wolfrun creepers. As of this, I'm always leaning towards shorter hemlines so that I look even just an inch shorter. Thus comes my fear of the maxi skirt/dress/anything, For the longest time I have been afraid of wearing maxi-skirts even or especially in 2007 (era of miley cyrus and maxi skirts), as much as I admire seeing Nicole Richie sway in her ever present californian dreamsicle dresses, I have never been one to don them. Cue in a 5"5 sister, a new year and an overwhelming array of clothes and you've found me donning those classic maxi skirts. But now that I've worn one, I've grown accustomed to the swish and comfort it offers me. Who knew that I could grow ever so fond of the one thing I feared the most. I guess thats just what the new year does to you, or the cold weather

PS: Anyone wanna shoot me? Hahaha not in the physical action of pulling the trigger but more in the snapping sense of pushing down the camera button. Recently self-timer hasn't been very kind to me. Thus the amount of blurry images appearing on my SD card.

Underneath Your Love

Beanie- Birthday Gift, T-Shirt- David Choi APAC tour, belt- vintage, skirt- HK boutique, tights- h&m, socks- HK boutique, Creepers- Underground

Hello all! Finally another new look! And I finally debuted my glasses! For those of you who don't know, I'm short-sighted, which means that glasses have become a staple necessity into my everyday life. My degree's not that bad though, but still I enjoy the extra clear vision. I put together this super simple look the other day while running out and about and I've come to love the versatility this skirt offers. So I guess its become another wardrobe necessity. On the down side,  reports are coming out this week. So I may seem a bit less than usual in my next posts. And excuse the double chin that frequently appears throughout this look.

PS: Backstory on the shirt! I'm a huge fan of David Choi ever since he started on Youtube, so when I heard he was coming to my home country, I just knew I had to be there. And continuing my amazing stream of luck, I managed to win a pair of tickets to go to the concert. It was a great night, full of jazzy sounds and David's infectious charm. My sister and I were dancing the whole night. And the best part, we got to meet him! Most of the meeting consisted of my gobsmacked face and his constant charm. To commemorate the night, I bought this t-shirt, which serves as a sweet memory of the event. I recommend all of you to check out David and his music. And if he comes near you, GO SEE HIM (:

Liebster Award!

Sorry for the late post! This was supposed to be up two days ago but the procrasination bug caught me :(

I woke up this morning to find out I had been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely diana! Please go and check out her blog, she's such a lovely girl! This award definitely made my day and its been truly incredible. This is definitely a milestone in my blogging journey. Thank you to all my followers and here's to more new followers in the near future.

What is it?
Tbh, I found myself asking that when I found out I was nominated! Basically the Liebster Award honors bloggers who have 200 followers or less. Nobody really knows how it started but basically, bloggers nominate other bloggers for the award. Its a really cool acknowledgment for all the great unknown blogs out there. Liebster is german for favourite, so I guess it translates into 'Favourite Blog Award', which is pretty darn cool! So all the winners can put this award badge on their blogs. Everyone who receives has to play by the rules so that the award can be passed on to others. So lets get straight into it!

Rules of the Liebster Award:
1. List 11 facts about yourself.
2. Answer the 11 questions given to you.
3. Ask 11 new questions for the bloggers you nominate for the award.
4. Choose 11 bloggers with 200 or less followers to nominate.
5. Go to each bloggers page and let them know about the award.
6. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog

11 facts about yours truly

3. No smartphones or androids! Just your regular Nokia C-2 user :D
4. I'm in love with Robert Downey Jr and the magic of iron man
5. I love all types and genre's of music! You could go from Bob Marley to The Smiths on my iTunes.

8. I really love messing around with my hair and doing whatever to it.
9. I love the works of Woody Allen, Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola and Wong-Kar Wai.
10. I'm a chocolaholic.
11. My dad is from Hong Kong and my mum is from Malaysia.

Questions from diana:

What's the one thing you want to do before you die?
Watch the ball drop from times square live on NYE! Its always been a dream of mine to go to New York to witness the magic live, you just don't get the same feeling watching it on telly! I've never been there before, so its definitely on my bucket list!

Why did you decide to get into blogging?
I've had my blog for about 2 years but I really decided to get into blogging about one year ago. My sister is also a blogger so seeing her put together her outfits and document them really inspired me. I've always been in love with fashion and writing so blogging seemed like a perfect combination.

What are your wardrobe staples?
Wow, I've got a lot! I really love high waisted trousers, I've got loads and I can never do with more. I find high waisted trousers super comfortable and flattering for my figure. I also really love band tees! I've cut up most of mine to fit my petite body but they're great to dress up/ dress down and certainly make great conversation starters! Recently, I've been finding myself falling in love with circle skirts, I just love the way to swish around and they're incredibly flattering (highlighting the waist, skimming over the tummy!).

If you could go anywhere with anyone, who would you go with and where would you go?
I am dying to visit LA again! The last time I went there, I was really little and I went with my family. I can't remember much from that trip but I really would love to go back there again. I would probably take either my best friend or my sister since we would do anything and everything there!

What is your favorite quote?
I've got so many favourite quotes so this is just one from the many:

"The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you."- Lost in Translation

If you were only allowed to shop at one shop for the rest of your life, what shop would it be?
I love lots of brands but I really love shopping in vintage/thrift stores. So if I could only every shop at one store, it would probably be a thrift store. I would love hunting for different pieces from different times and it would always be exciting leaving with a different outfit!

Who is your ultimate style icon.
My mum. Without a doubt, my mum is my ultimate style icon. She pulls off every outfit with such class and she never fails to dress classy and sophisticated.

What trends are you most excited to rock this year?
Emerald! Its one of my favourite colours so I'm excited to see it come out a lot this year. Definitely hunting for more emerald pieces to include in my ever bustling closet. I'm also excited to try out more beaded pieces. They add an aura of intrigue to an outfit and I really love tiny embellishments.

Any guilty pleasures?
Oh where do I begin.. I watch a lot of television and movies surprisingly. I'm always loading new episodes on my mac! I really enjoy watching Hart of Dixie with Rachel Bilson because I really love her style :D

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully having just graduated from uni and working in a job! I would love to go into radio because its such an intriging industry. I interned in a radio station during summer and I absolutely loved it! I would also love to be working in the fashion industry possibly as an editor for a magazine.

What are some of your favourite band/recording artist?
I have too many favourite musicians! I guess my all time favourites would have to be Norah Jones, The Smiths, Calvin Harris, Muse, The Kooks, MGMT and The Virgins. Recently, I've been loving The Postal Service, Mike Snow, The Strokes and Best Coast.

Now for the fun bit... the winners nominated by me!

1.  Cut & Copy
2. TheFashionWanton

My questions for those above:

1. What's one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you?
2. Who are your favourite bloggers?
3. How did you start your blog?
4. How would you describe the fashion scene where you live?
5. Whats your favourite movie?
6. How would you describe your style in three words?
7. Shoes or bags? Why?
8. Whats the most expensive item you've bought? And why?
9. Who's your celebrity crush?
10. What trends are you excited to rock for spring 2013?
11. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

have fun!

That Riding Pant

Riding Pant- American Apparel

Today I came back from school to find that these bad boys were waiting for me at home. Needless to say, I screamed for joy. I had ordered the 'riding pant' in 'navy blue' a week ago and since then, I had forgotten about it. I guess that I was so caught up in schoolwork to remember so it was really nice to discover them waiting for me at home. The fit of the riding pant is incredible. Its definitely thinner than the disco pant but I really love the way it fits. And its incredibly warm which is definitely a plus. Oh and apologies for the blurred photos. #dslrselftimerproblems

True Blue

Jacket- DIY, T-shirt- Vintage, Belt- Vintage, Shorts- Thrifted DIY

Hooray for the first look of 2013! Decided to go a little bit out of my comfort zone with a completely monotonous look. I've been in a bit of a funk with what I wear recently so I just decided to dress up as a classic 90's kid (hence the denim on denim). Surprisingly, I quite like the ensemble, although I'll probably throw on tights next time! Its getting much colder now so its time for me to bring out all my sweaters and coats.

PS: Excuse the horrible purple-y, gollum like legs! Hence the need for tights!
