HELLO HACKNEY

top- boutique // Shorts & Dress (worn as a kimono)- thrifted// Loafers- Aldo

Photography by Nicole Chui

In less than one week (six days to be precise), I will no longer be a Hong Kong resident and will be instead settling into my new home in Hackney. Looking back at these photos (they were taken in June), have made me realize how much time has passed since then and as the clock ticks down, more panic seeps into my body as I get ready to depart my hometown of 17 years. However, I'm a firm believer in the fact that a home is never a zip code but rather its who you're with and I hope that I = find that in London. Ok, enough sappy talk, I'll save the love letter for another post. And real talk here, I am incapable of not raising my right hand in 99% of these photos. Brain fart.

COME CLOSER

Choker- DIY, Top- Boutique in HK, Shorts- Thrifted and DIY'd, Shoes- Underground, Bracelet- From Nick (thank you :*), Watch- Guess

Well, what can I say, other than the obligatory apology for being the crappiest blogger on the planet, this week has definitely been a whirlwind. Be it handing in mountains of papers, slaving away until the early light of dawn and experiencing having my own room for the first time in my life (my sister has moved out and on to her new joyeus life in london). This week has definitely had its ups and downs. But throughout it all, I've really discovered that I have a really rad bunch of people in my life, so I'd like to take this moment to appreciate all the greatness they've brought into my life (I love you t-law!). Ok enough sappiness. Lets go back to this gnarly tie dye top. Psychedelic, isn't it?

30 Day/Post Song Challenge

Day/Post 23: A song that you wish you could play

'Come Closer' by Miles Kane

There are so many songs that I would absolutely die to play but I think it would be pretty cool to whip out the sick chords of 'come closer'. Plus Miles Kane is pretty amazing so having the ability to play anything by him would be the definition of rad.

Electric Feel

Extreme close up!

Gold Chain- DIY, Tie dye shirt- DIY, Jacket- HK boutique, Shorts- Thrifted DIY, Boots- Jeffrey Campbell Cutout Freda

Hello readers! I'm currently on Chinese New Year break and I'm really enjoying squeezing in precious hours of sleep. To all my readers, a belated Happy Chinese New Year! Better late than never :) Anyways, onto the main occasion, the shoes! It feels a bit selfish that I haven't shown you all my favourite pair of shoes, considering the amount of time they've spent in my closet. However, allow me to introduce to you my absolutely stunning, breath taking, makes-me-want-to-dance-all-day JEFFREY CAMPBERLL CUTOUT FREDA'S! That extra 6.5" do really make a difference. These beautiful creatures are courtesy of my lovely sister, who gave these back to me in winter of '12 as a birthday present. I have yet to wear them out but hopefully the new year will soon change that.

Now onto my 30 day/post song challenge!

Day/Post 6: A song that reminds you of somewhere

and the lucky number is..

'Electric Feel' by MGMT

Electric Feel has to be one of my favourite songs from MGMT. No kidding. Oracular Spectacular is practically amazing. For some reason, this song reminds me of the ocean waves and a forrest. No idea how but it somehow does. I think its because of the music video. Anyways, enjoy the song!
