HELLO HACKNEY

top- boutique // Shorts & Dress (worn as a kimono)- thrifted// Loafers- Aldo

Photography by Nicole Chui

In less than one week (six days to be precise), I will no longer be a Hong Kong resident and will be instead settling into my new home in Hackney. Looking back at these photos (they were taken in June), have made me realize how much time has passed since then and as the clock ticks down, more panic seeps into my body as I get ready to depart my hometown of 17 years. However, I'm a firm believer in the fact that a home is never a zip code but rather its who you're with and I hope that I = find that in London. Ok, enough sappy talk, I'll save the love letter for another post. And real talk here, I am incapable of not raising my right hand in 99% of these photos. Brain fart.

TWIST AND SHOUT

T-shirt-Gia Coppola x Uniqlo, Shorts- DIY, Hoodie- passed down, Choker- friend, Socks- Nike, Shoes- Monki.

This post is disgustingly late as these photos were taken (by my favourite sister) a week ago and its only going up today! Still better late than never right? I'm feeling very assasin's creed in this hooded combination. I think that myself, and a lot of other bloggers, tend to 'doll it up' for the camera, and a lot of the time, we tend to forget to snap our actual normal uniform. So I'd thought I liked to show you guys my usual attire whilst I'm lounging around the house. Just so you guys can see what I'm *ahem* actually like.

My sister snapped these photos whilst we were walking our dog Maggie. As my time in Hong Kong is quickly coming to a halt, I've been spending more and more time with the loveable fool and I honestly have no idea how I'll be able to deal with all the separation anxiety I'll be facing once we're separated. Star-crossed lovers? I think so.

I've also realized that this is my first post of the new year! So a belated happy new year everyone? Sorry that this is my first post of this year, but I've just been so swept away with work. Hopefully I'll have more time in the new year to post more outfits, especially once I'm free of the IB. Never again will two letters haunt me with such negative feelings.

PS: Can we talk about how rad this choker is? I found it in a box! Not only does it go with my brand new holographic kicks, it also reflects rhinestones in the sun. Double whammy.

PPS: I've been dying to cut my hair a la Kiko Mizuharu, thoughts, words opinions? Should I take the cut or not?

SEVENTEEN

Leather jacket- HK Boutique, Sweater- Monki, Collared shirt- Thrift shop, Denim cutoffs- Vintage, Knee socks- Boots, Boots- Monki

Photos by Nicole

As you may or may not know from the title of this post, I am finally seventeen! Seventeen is a strange feeling, I feel neither older or younger. Yet the word 'seventeen' does sound much more, dare I say, sophisticated than the sixteen? I can't even begin to fathom how I've wandered this ground for seventeen solid years. Winter has finally arrived and school is out of session, equaling to an absurdly high amount of procrastination. Christmas is just around the corner but for some reason, it hasn't hit me yet. Maybe its because my head's been mainly stuck in books? Oh and yes, this knee socks will definitely not be coming off me. Love them 5eva.

PS: If you haven't already followed my instagram, you would've probably known that the best birthday present I've received is a uni offer to study at my first choice. I'm not sure when to reveal it here but I am beyond excited to be studying in London next year!

The Pocket Guide to Plays & Playwrights by Maureen Hughes; House of Holland nails in Zig Zag Stardust

Here's a quick post documenting my new October entries. Its been a while since I've done this sort of post, so I wanted to show you whats new in my Narnia-esque wardrobe. And contrary to popular belief, most of these items were indeed cheap thrills, with the exception of the rad House of Holland nails gifted by my sister. I picked up these shirts at a newly opened thrift store the other day, and I could not be happier about them. There's another shirt that I got, however I haven't pictured it since I have DIY plans for it. My  parents returned from London with this book thats amazing for only £2! I've also got these hair products (freebies) that are going to be instrumental in taming this mane of my head. Alright, I'm off to nomming on swiss rolls in preparation of winter (yes that is a thing).
