FRALITE

Jacket- East End Thrift Shop// Top - Etsy // Skirt- DIY// Tote- Gallery Petronas // Shoes- Office

Photography by Nicole
Fair play London. The day after we shot this look, London decided to drop a few degrees colder and I can no longer wear this out without running the risk of hyperventilation. Fair play. And if my run in with Brienne of Tarth was any indication (yes that's right!), winter is coming upon us. So goodbye bare legs, constant jacket tying around the waist, sheer tights, cha xiu bao buns, green leaves, afternoon sunlight and lying on green grass eating crisp cut sandwiches (also cautiously watching demonic pigeons flying about). Hello hot chocolate (well this is a year long ritual for me), pumpkin spice latte, coat-over-jacket-over-cardigan-over-sweater sort of looks, indomie dinners (well this again is year long for me), snuggling in bed, mittens, endless excuses to buy new coats, that natural yes my cheeks are pale look, early dark afternoons and scarf fumbling. Truth be told, I've never experienced a real 'winter' (too used to spending 20˚C Christmases), so as scary and  as chilly it may be, bring it on winter.

PS: Apologies at how weather centric this post was. There have been so many things that have been going on in my life (including achieving my number one new years resolution!), I will definitely be sure to tell all in a more detailed post.

HELLO HACKNEY

top- boutique // Shorts & Dress (worn as a kimono)- thrifted// Loafers- Aldo

Photography by Nicole Chui

In less than one week (six days to be precise), I will no longer be a Hong Kong resident and will be instead settling into my new home in Hackney. Looking back at these photos (they were taken in June), have made me realize how much time has passed since then and as the clock ticks down, more panic seeps into my body as I get ready to depart my hometown of 17 years. However, I'm a firm believer in the fact that a home is never a zip code but rather its who you're with and I hope that I = find that in London. Ok, enough sappy talk, I'll save the love letter for another post. And real talk here, I am incapable of not raising my right hand in 99% of these photos. Brain fart.

ARABELLA

Jacket- HK boutique, Shorts- Thrifted and DIY'd, Sunglasses- HK boutique, Choker- DIY, Sweater- Persunmall, Creepers- Underground

After a deliriously long pause, I am finally back with a much overdue outfit post. So without further adieu, I present my outfit.

The lovely folks at Persunmall gifted me with this sweater. Persunmall is a great website for shopping online and its extremely affordable. Persunmall is stocked with a wide variety of clothes, shoes and even prom dresses! So no matter what, you'll be sure to find something you like. Shopping on persunmall is extremely easy and I highly recommend shopping on persunmall. This sweater is perfect for lighter conditions or for layering in colder climates. I love the ribbed detailing on it and surprisingly, it fits me like a glove! I especially love how easy it feels on my body. I'll definitely be wearing it throughout the year(s) to come! Please click HERE to view the sweater and the website.

Conrad and I ventured out to our 'signature' spot to take these photos. We shot here a while back and unlike Hong Kong's landscape, it hasn't changed at all. I also wore these shorts the last time we were here, however I've gone 'creative' and decided to distress and rip these shorts. After all, everything looks better worn to pieces.

I literally sewed this choker minutes before I left the door to school this morning and its not coming off me for a while. I love how the clear crystal looks and I'll definitely be making more similar to this.

Alright, I have some tv shows homework to attend to!

TWIST AND SHOUT

T-shirt-Gia Coppola x Uniqlo, Shorts- DIY, Hoodie- passed down, Choker- friend, Socks- Nike, Shoes- Monki.

This post is disgustingly late as these photos were taken (by my favourite sister) a week ago and its only going up today! Still better late than never right? I'm feeling very assasin's creed in this hooded combination. I think that myself, and a lot of other bloggers, tend to 'doll it up' for the camera, and a lot of the time, we tend to forget to snap our actual normal uniform. So I'd thought I liked to show you guys my usual attire whilst I'm lounging around the house. Just so you guys can see what I'm *ahem* actually like.

My sister snapped these photos whilst we were walking our dog Maggie. As my time in Hong Kong is quickly coming to a halt, I've been spending more and more time with the loveable fool and I honestly have no idea how I'll be able to deal with all the separation anxiety I'll be facing once we're separated. Star-crossed lovers? I think so.

I've also realized that this is my first post of the new year! So a belated happy new year everyone? Sorry that this is my first post of this year, but I've just been so swept away with work. Hopefully I'll have more time in the new year to post more outfits, especially once I'm free of the IB. Never again will two letters haunt me with such negative feelings.

PS: Can we talk about how rad this choker is? I found it in a box! Not only does it go with my brand new holographic kicks, it also reflects rhinestones in the sun. Double whammy.

PPS: I've been dying to cut my hair a la Kiko Mizuharu, thoughts, words opinions? Should I take the cut or not?

COME CLOSER

Choker- DIY, Top- Boutique in HK, Shorts- Thrifted and DIY'd, Shoes- Underground, Bracelet- From Nick (thank you :*), Watch- Guess

Well, what can I say, other than the obligatory apology for being the crappiest blogger on the planet, this week has definitely been a whirlwind. Be it handing in mountains of papers, slaving away until the early light of dawn and experiencing having my own room for the first time in my life (my sister has moved out and on to her new joyeus life in london). This week has definitely had its ups and downs. But throughout it all, I've really discovered that I have a really rad bunch of people in my life, so I'd like to take this moment to appreciate all the greatness they've brought into my life (I love you t-law!). Ok enough sappiness. Lets go back to this gnarly tie dye top. Psychedelic, isn't it?

30 Day/Post Song Challenge

Day/Post 23: A song that you wish you could play

'Come Closer' by Miles Kane

There are so many songs that I would absolutely die to play but I think it would be pretty cool to whip out the sick chords of 'come closer'. Plus Miles Kane is pretty amazing so having the ability to play anything by him would be the definition of rad.

STUCK ON A PUZZLE

Shirt- Grandmother's, Shorts- Thrifted & DIY'd, Watch- Guess (old), Heels- Office. Photos by Nicole.

Three weeks is far too long for a delayed outfit post and suffice to say, a lot has changed since my last outfit and now. Currently, I am lamenting the impending deadline of my re-entry into prison, also known as school. I have approximately t- six days of freedom left and I am desperately trying to cram everything, and I mean everything into the span of 144 hours. Another aspect of my glorious life. The weather in Hong Kong has been nothing short of bi-polar and on sun soaked occasions, such as last Sunday, this sleeveless-shirt-denim-shorts-white-shoes have been my go to uniform. I've held these shoes captive for about a month, but only recently have they seen the light of my blog. There's something about white shoes that make you realize you actually have to take care of your shoes. And thanks to the now broadening collection of white shoes in my wardrobe, I have now accumulated three different methods of cleaning these shoes. Score.

Day/ Post 21: A song that makes you listen to when you're sad

'Stuck on a puzzle' - Alex Turner

As mentioned earlier, a lot has changed in the past three weeks. I'm not one the divulge into my wondrous life, however these weeks have definitely been rocky for me. Sometimes, it takes the right perspective to make all the difference. (Unfortunately, I didn't come up with that wondrous statement *cries*, credits to the talented guys of WongFu Productions' When It Counts *hint hint fangirl over here).

This song is not directly sad, but more melancholic and it's definitely been a song I've been listening to a lot this summer. Submarine is one of my favourite movies and the score for the movie is just incredible. So enough of my ramblings and go enjoy this masterpiece.

PS: Hint at a submarine inspiration/review post? I think so.

I'M ONE- THE WHO

Crop Top- DIY, Floral Headband- DIY, Bart Simpson Shorts- HK boutique, Freda's- Jeffrey Campbell

*WARNING LONG POST* IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SKIP MY POST, THE 30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE IS LISTED BELOW, THANK YOU :)

Hello lovely readers, apologies for the longer post today, I felt like I had some things to get off my chest. First of all, EAT MY SHORTS! As ususual, yours truly was the last (and when I mean last, I mean like last last, like last behind the last person last) person to jump onto the Bart Simpson bandwagon. The Simpson's were and still is, one of my favourite TV shows growing up, and while I was mainly identified as the 'Bart' of the family, I always had a special place for Homer in my heart. I have to admit, I wasn't so keen on the trend when it first surfaced on a certain lithe Cara Delavigne, however, its grown accustomed to me and I secretly call this number my 'rad shorts'.

This week has definitely been a rollercoaster, not just personally, but locally and internationally. So many unexpected events have happened that we have no explanation for. I don't really like to divulge into things that have been happening in my life, however, I feel that now is the time to stand up and say something about it. This week, an unfortunate tragedy occurred in my school, and whilst it wouldn't be right of me to tell you how much I knew that person, it did force me to think about how short life is and how we have so much that we can do. A few other tragedies happened around Hong Kong, and while I had no personal connection to either incident, I did feel the emotional pain their families went through and it did sting my heart. Another incident happened this week, one of my closest friends was heavily criticized by other so called 'friends' for her decision of being openly honest with her opinions. She had joined ask.fm and had stated her honest opinions to the questions she was asked, which I thought was one of the most courageous and admirable things to do. Yet, she was berated for her answers and for her honesty. She calmly replied to these 'comments' and offered to apologize to anyone who was offended, yet she would not apologize for her opinions. This just made me realize how vicious people are when they are 'anonymous' and most people forget that there are two sides to every story. However knowing high schools long tedious life, it will probably be forgotten next week.

What happened in Boston was truly shocking, there is o one word in the English dictionary that can describe the terror and shock of that day. My friend was helping in the medic tent when the first bomb blew off, thankfully she is fine and unharmed. My friend's father was running 200ft away when the first bomb went off as well, thankfully he too is safe. My mother's friend who had already finished the marathon, was in her hotel room watching TV when she heard news of the bombs. Its so surreal to hear all these things happening so close to you. Not only were the victims robbed of their lives, but they were also robbed of their innocence. However, I want to encourage all not just to pray for Boston, but for all those around the world who are suffering in need, for those that have been lost, and for those taking lead in this situation.

I would also just like to say that I am a christian and I do hope that you as a reader will come to understand and accept me for that. Christianity is the way of life I have chosen and without it, my life would have no meaning. I know that some of you may disagree, however I would just like to be honest with you about my religion as I am now in a point in my life where honesty is truly the best policy.

30 Day /Post Song Challenge

Day/Post 15: A song that describes you

'I'm One' by The Who

This song is actually taken from my favourite episode of Freaks and Geeks, 'Dead Dogs and Gym Teacher's', and its from the seen where Bill is eating and watching TV whilst just having a general blast with himself. This scene gets me every time because I relate to it so much, as loner like this may sound, sometimes I prefer listening to the sounds of the Who versus the sounds of people talking. Sometimes, I just like the company of myself. Bill is by himself and yet he is just so happy. Although my love for Daniel Desario is undeniable, Bill Haverchuck has to be my favourite character because to me, he is the most relatable.
